Are there any cat foods that lessen the smell of a cats poop?

We have two cats and we live in a small apartment. I love the cats but hate the smell. I clean the litter box every day, but yet there is the awful smell. I have purchased air freshners, litter box crystals, baking soda and tried different litter. Is there a type of food that would reduce the kitty smell? Or what litter works best for you? Or what air freshner cuts the smell the most? Help!
