Are cats that have Feline Leukemia alowed in Australia?

by admin on October 22, 2009

OK. I’m thinking about moving to Australia, I live in America now. I have several cats; one of which has Feline Leukemia. Do they allow cats that are infected with this disease to immigrate to Australia?

Thanks, Dr.

I wouldn’t imagine it would be a problem as leukaemia is not contagious.
Australia does have very strict quarantine laws however – you can find more information at http://www.daffa.gov.au/aqis/import/live-animals

I don’t see a problem.
I couldn’t recite the law but I’m sure they would allow your cat.
